Girl 4 Girls

Empowering Women: The Journey of Project Girls for Girls (G4G)

At Project Girls for Girls (G4G), we believe in the untapped potential of every girl to lead. Founded on the principle that young women deserve the tools and support to realize their ambitions, G4G empowers them with courage, vision, and skills essential for leadership. Through professional mentorship, skills-based tools, and a global network of female leaders, we pave the way for a new generation of empowered women.

The story of Project G4G began at Harvard Kennedy School in 2017 when a group of post-graduate women leaders from diverse backgrounds recognized the barriers preventing women from attaining leadership positions worldwide. Fueled by their shared vision, they came together to bridge this gap. Project G4G Tanzania, established on May 6, 2023, emerged as a beacon of empowerment for young women across the nation.

Our initiative aims to cultivate leadership, growth, and mentorship among young women in Tanzania. The inaugural cohort, comprised of founders and project managers from grassroots NGOs, embarked on a transformative journey of self-discovery and development. Guided by dedicated mentors and enriched by the wisdom of guest speakers, these seven women graduated as trailblazers, equipped to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

Building on this success, our second cohort, affectionately known as "Motomoto," consists of nineteen women who are currently progressing through the program. This diverse group of emerging leaders is poised to carry forward the legacy of empowerment and drive positive change in Tanzania and beyond.

In addition to our mentorship program, we facilitate a dynamic book club where members explore literature that fosters economic, leadership, and intellectual growth. This safe space, where women come together online twice a month, serves as a platform for shared learning, discussion, and camaraderie.

As we reflect on our journey thus far, we are proud of the strides we have made in empowering women to lead. However, our work is far from over. We invite mentors and mentees alike to join us in shaping the future cohorts of Project Girls for Girls. Together, we can continue to nurture the next generation of female leaders and create a more equitable world for all.

If you're passionate about empowering women and making a difference, we welcome you to join us on this inspiring journey. Together, let's empower, uplift, and celebrate the leadership potential of every girl.

Help us  create a brighter future for the children of Tanzania.
