Tumpe Binti Thamani( Give Her Value)

In many cities, girls who are at risk of falling into risky behaviour face social stigma and economic marginalization, often being labelled as outcasts. RUFFO recognizes the urgent need to empower these girls economically, socially, and behaviorally, to provide them with the dignity and respect they deserve. They are a marginalized group, often ignored and shunned by society, with their problems brushed under the rug.

In response to this pressing issue, RUFFO proudly introduces the Tumpe Binti Thamani (Give Her Value) Project. This initiative is specifically designed to equip at-risk girls in the city with essential skills and resources to transform their lives and break free from the cycle of social stigma and economic hardship.

Many of these girls, although extremely young, have people dependent on their income, be it children or parents or both. Thus, it becomes imperative to support them in building a stable and sustainable livelihood.

The Tumpe Binti Thamani Project focuses on three core components:

  1. Economic Strengthening and Social Empowerment Training:

Through a comprehensive curriculum, participants receive training in setting life goals, effective communication, understanding gender dynamics, taking action against gender-based violence, empowering themselves to avoid risky situations, and managing their finances and personal affairs. By acquiring these skills, participants gain confidence and autonomy, enabling them to challenge the stigmatization they face and assert their rights as individuals deserving of respect and dignity.

2. Regular One-on-One Life Coaching Sessions:

In addition to group training sessions, participants benefit from personalized life coaching sessions. These sessions provide a supportive and empowering environment for participants to address individual challenges, set personal goals, and develop strategies for overcoming obstacles.

3. Vocational Training and Real Work Experience:

The project also offers vocational training opportunities tailored to the interests and aspirations of participants. Through hands-on training and real work experience, participants gain valuable skills and practical knowledge, increasing their employability and economic independence.

By empowering at-risk girls in the city through the Tumpe Binti Thamani Project, RUFFO aims to facilitate behavioral change by providing the girls with the tools to challenge stigma and marginalization, enabling them to lead fulfilling and dignified lives. Through economic empowerment, social support, and skills development, we strive to give these girls the value and recognition they deserve as equal members of society.
