RUFFO Commemorates Day of the African Child 2022 with a Call for Child Protection

Raising Up Friendship Foundation (RUFFO) partnered with the United Nations Human Rights Council, Kisarawe District Council, and several other organizations to commemorate the Day of the African Child 2022. The event brought together primary and secondary schools from Kisarawe, where children participated in activities aimed at raising awareness of child protection issues.

The highlight of the event was a walk to symbolize the collective effort in protecting children's rights and preventing child abuse in Tanzania. RUFFO distributed sanitary towels to girls in attendance, ensuring they can continue their education without worry or shame.

The Guest of Honour, Kisarawe District Commissioner Nickson Simon John, emphasized the importance of child protection and the role of the community in safeguarding children's welfare. He called upon parents, guardians, and community members to be vigilant in protecting children from abuse, exploitation, and other forms of harm.

The event was a success, with children and adults learning about child protection and their roles in safeguarding children's welfare.

RUFFO remains committed to promoting child protection in Tanzania through its initiatives, including raising awareness, providing education and resources, and advocating for policies that protect children's rights in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
